About

Julia Sturzlbaum is a soprano and, since the 2025/26 season, a member of the ensemble of the Staatsoper Hannover, where she appears as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni and as Hope Harcourt in Cole Porter's Anything Goes, among other roles.

What sets her apart is a rare fluency across genres: with a classically trained soprano voice and thorough training in dance and acting, she moves effortlessly between opera, operetta and musical theatre. From 2020 to 2025 she was a member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, singing roles such as Despina (Così fan tutte), Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady) and Cosette (Les Misérables).

She trained in her native Vienna: at the Musikgymnasium, in the children's chorus of the Volksoper, and at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), where she graduated in musical theatre in 2020. She continues her vocal studies with soprano Daniela Fally.
